WHAT WE INSTALL

Types of Luxury Vinyl Plank

The right construction depends on the room, the subfloor, and how the space gets used. We’ll match your project to the right plank at the estimate.

Rigid Core (SPC)

A dense stone-polymer core that holds its shape, resists dents, and bridges small subfloor imperfections. Most of the planks in our collection are rigid core, with 20 mil wear layers for everyday traffic.

Click-Lock Floating

Planks lock together edge to edge and float over the subfloor, so installation is fast and your home is back in use with minimal downtime. The most common way LVP goes down.

Glue-Down

For spaces where a floating floor isn’t the right fit, LVP can be adhered directly to a prepared subfloor. We’ll tell you at the assessment whether glue-down makes sense for your rooms.

LVP Installation FAQs

How much does LVP installation cost?

It depends on square footage, the plank you choose, and the condition of your subfloor. LVP usually costs less than hardwood up front. Every estimate includes materials, labor, and cleanup, and the price we quote is the price you pay.

How long does installation take?

Click-lock LVP goes in quickly with minimal downtime. We set your schedule at the estimate, once we’ve measured the rooms and checked the subfloor.

Is LVP really waterproof?

The planks we carry are 100% waterproof. A waterproof plank isn’t a waterproof room, though. Water that gets under a floating floor from a damp slab or crawlspace can cause problems, which is why we take moisture readings and check the subfloor before every install.

Should I choose LVP or hardwood?

Many Western NC homes use both: hardwood in living areas and bedrooms, LVP in basements, mudrooms, bathrooms, and laundry rooms. Our guide to LVP vs. hardwood flooring breaks down the tradeoffs.

How do I care for LVP floors?

LVP resists scratches and stains and is easy to clean, which is why it’s popular with families and pets. We’ll go over care instructions with you at the final walkthrough.

Can I see LVP samples before I decide?

Yes. Order samples online for $5.99 each, or compare LVP and hardwood side by side at our Black Mountain and Conover showrooms, Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm.
